THE WAYPOINTS

Lost refers to people who have not yet accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. They are still identified with their sins and as such they are objects of God’s Wrath (the Perfect Judge who must condemn wrong).

An engaged contributor is a person (could be lost or saved) who is willing to participate with a Disciple Maker in the work of the Kingdom. They may contribute by participating in a Church Fundraiser, Church Event, or Church Ministry.

A person who has committed their life to being a Disciple of Jesus has been bought with the Blood of Jesus and now honor God with their time, talents and treasures. They are recognizing that they are a “living sacrifice” meant to be holy and pleasing to God with all that they are and have. God has given them an eternal purpose and has them living out the rest of their life with His mission.

All Disciples have been knit together to make up the Body of Christ on Earth. Each of us has a role to play—for just as the joints of our physical bodies are fashioned in such a way that if we didn’t have ligaments and tendons, our movement would be spastic and painful at best—the same is true spiritually. As each Disciple brings their role into effect the Body becomes the functional presence Jesus in the world.

Some Disciples have been called to take a role of leadership in the Body of Christ. That could include being a LIFE group leader, a Bible class teacher, a youth leader, etc.
Taking intentional steps to prepare for that role is necessary therefore, specific training is required for LIFE Church ministry leaders.

There are other Disciples who have been called to roles of added responsibility still. These we, in short, refer to as ‘Directors’. These Disciples are set to serve other leaders by providing added direction, counsel, coaching and accountability.

The Pastoral ministry is a shepherding ministry where God has called men to serve, lead, direct and equip the local Body of Christ (aka - local Church congregation) in the work of the ministry. Pastors may function as shepherds in a particular aspect of the Church ministry (Associate, Executive, Senior, etc.)
